I found this font in the Artist's collection of Guitar Solos on a page with an arrangement of a famous Boccherini minuet. Note that this is an antique font that could have been used in 1896. Also, I am not an expert, but it is characterized by concave decorative serifs that are located in places where a grotesque font would have right angles, as well as on the sides, empty spaces inside the thickenings, while the main lines remain quite thin.
