Hello all I'm trying to identify the font from the cover of a 1911 version of "The Children of the New Forest" by Captain Marryat. Published by Henry Holt, New York. Here's a link to the wikipedia image of the cover: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Children_of_the_New_Forest#/media/File:The_Children_of_the_New_Forest_-_1911_book_cover.jpg To recap: A typeface from 1911 or earlier. The font bears many similarities to the "Ben Franklin" font, to Bookman Old Style, and to Cloister Old Style (as well as several others from the search results). I've come close but not found the exact font. The "W" in this font doesn't have any head serifs in the middle. The "M" character has straight ascenders. Notice the slant of the "O" and the curve of the "R".

Hello Ionita
Many thanks for the suggestions -- they're great fonts and very similar to the original one. I am still curious if I can find the actual font used on the book cover, even if it is a longshot :)
